The official unveiling of the project was a proud moment for all involved. It included national and local press coverage, attendance by high-ranking military representatives, and even a representative of the Royal Family — a powerful recognition of both the estate’s legacy and the quality of the storytelling brought to life by our team.
Working alongside our research and scripting process, our illustration team crafted a series of atmospheric, period-style visuals designed to evoke both the mood and context of 1940s wartime intelligence work.

Our recent project, The Listening House: Latimer’s Hidden War, exemplifies the breadth of our work. Set within the modern-day De Vere Latimer Estate, this once-secret country house played a crucial role in WWII intelligence. German prisoners were held here, unaware that their conversations were being secretly recorded — intelligence that would help shape the outcome of the war. Working closely with esteemed historian Dr Helen Fry to ensure authenticity and historical accuracy. Alongside cinematic video and atmospheric location photography, we created bespoke illustration designs to visualise events for which no photographic evidence remains.
Traditional Illustration
To visualise undocumented wartime moments, we developed bespoke hand-drawn illustrations using Adobe Illustrator, animated with subtle movement in After Effects. These illustrated sequences served as an artistic bridge between fact and interpretation, preserving authenticity while adding emotional depth.
Generative AI Ilustrations
As part of our early visual development, we used AI-generated imagery to quickly explore potential compositions, lighting moods, and historic settings. These AI visuals acted as digital concept art, helping us define the tone and atmosphere of key scenes before committing to final illustrations.
